Blurring

Black lake
bright lights
Slick streets reflecting
the path from you
to me
A guitar in the window
of a music shop
My fingers really feel
the leather now
With a wheel
that turns two others
I remember everything
that has
to do
with you
everything else
Is blurr-ing
Simplicity seems to miss me
at every turn and bend
I miss the real smiles,
instead of the ones you use to pretend
And Swimming to the bottom
of the shallow end
as we pretend it’s the deep
I feel everything
that has
to do
with you
everything else
Is blurr-ing
Daylight fades
to a stale blue
a hard head steers
a wild heart
With every stop and stall
I feel I fail you
I hold my feet defeated
cause I feel there’s no need to start
Bright starry skies erupt
as I put the city deeper into the rear view
some things make sense
When all you can do is control yourself Life’s comes with uncontrollable hits
Your senses tell you to run, to quit
I stop, with the thought of you and
my flight goes to fight
With a heart like you
I venture through these hard nights
I make it through for me, with you
though everything is
Blurring...
